Cornell Professor Studies Food Psychology
A Cornell University professor is studying & writing about the psychology of food. Marketing professor Brian Wansink is trying to uncover the hidden cues that govern & influence how much people eat. Wansink argues that the best way to lose pounds is not to obsess over carbs, but find your dietary ”hidden persuaders.”
The good professor is interested to find out if people grab candy from a bowl if there are more colors, yes, and whether moods & setting dictate what you eat & how much, no.
Wansink takes his case to the bookshelf in his new book Mindless Eating, Why We Eat More than We Think We Eat.
“So much of the answer lies not in counting calories, not in legislating, but in the middle range of what we can do by changing some of our own habits,” Wansink stated.
What do you think, does your mood or setting change what you would like to eat?
