National Donut Day Donut / Doughnut Holes Recipe
I though we would ring in National Donut Day with a Yummy Donut Holes recipe. This is a fantastic recipe to make with the kids, if you’re up for the sweetness of doughnuts.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon veggie oil
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- Oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for sprinkling
What’s Next:
In a large bowl- combine the egg, milk, sugar & oil. Sift the flour, cream of tartar, baking powder, and salt into the egg mixture. Stir until well mixed
In a large skillet- add oil to about 1/3 of skillet & heat on medium-high.
Carefully drop batter by small spoonfuls into the oil. Remove with a slotted spoon when browned on all sides. Drain on a paper towel. Roll donut holes in powdered sugar while still warm.

[...] Well, if it’s National Donut Day, you can’t stop at one doughnut recipe. So, enjoy this Homemade Cake Donut / Doughnut recipe. I would like to submit, however, one spelling of the word ‘donut’ or ‘doughnut’. Please someone decide! Enjoy this great doughknut (there may as well be more spellings if we can’t all agree on one) recipe sure to put a smile on everyone’s face. [...]
