Donut Holes.jpgI though we would ring in National Donut Day with a Yummy Donut Holes recipe.  This is a fantastic recipe to make with the kids, if you’re up for the sweetness of doughnuts.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon veggie oil
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • Oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling

What’s Next:

In a large bowl- combine the egg, milk, sugar & oil. Sift the flour, cream of tartar, baking powder, and salt into the egg mixture. Stir until well mixed

In a large skillet- add oil to about 1/3 of skillet & heat on medium-high.

Carefully drop batter by small spoonfuls into the oil. Remove with a slotted spoon when browned on all sides. Drain on a paper towel. Roll donut holes in powdered sugar while still warm.

Eat well & Laugh often!
