‘Joy of Cooking’ Fudge Pie Recipe
Let’s celebrate the Joy of Cooking cookbook’s 75th birthday in style, chocolate style. This Fudge Pie recipe is a blast from the Joy of Cooking past. The crustless pie is a sure treat for anyone who shines their spotlight on chocolate. Enjoy & Happy Birthday, Joy!
Here’s What to Do:
Go ahead & preheat your oven to 325 F or 162 C.
Cream together:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
Beat in:
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 ounces melted, slightly cooled unsweetened chocolate
Add and beat:
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Whip until stiff, but not dry:
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Fold egg whites & salt mix into batter. Pour into a greased 8-inch pie pan and bake about 30 minutes & enjoy! A great treat to serve with vanilla bean ice cream!

I loved that pie thanks a lot for the recipe any desert with chocolate in is good enough for me good job i do a lot of exercise.
