Quick Recipe of the Day: Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Good morning, readers! Do I have a goodie for you this fine morn! So, we’re still working on collecting some quick meal idea recipes this month & with February being the host of my favorite holiday, Valentine’s Day, I thought we’d tackle a sweet treat.
These delicious & easy to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries are a wonderful gift for that special person in your life. Enjoy, I know they will!
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces milk, semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (you know I go for the dark!)
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 pound fresh strawberries with leaves
What’s Next:
Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.
Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick into styrofoam for the chocolate to cool. That’s all!
