Pistachio Milkshake

March 19, 2011 By Delia

I am a big fan of almond milk. I find it tastier than regular milk. Pistachio milkshake is similar to it. If you are feeling lazy, you can blend some pistachio ice cream and milk; although, nothing beats the real thing because you can control the flavor by adding more nuts or sweetener for example.

Ingredients:

4 tablespoons raw pistachio

2 1/2 cups milk

1 cup condensed milk

Saffron

1 cup crushed ice

Soak the pistachios in water for 1 hour. After, drain the water and chop the pistachios. Set aside 1 tablespoon of chopped pistachios for garnish.

In a blender, blend the pistachios and 1/2 cup of milk for 1 minute or until smooth.

In a saucepan, pour in the remaining milk, nut milk mixture and saffron. Bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer until it froths. Remove it from the heat and add the condensed milk. Mix well. Strain the milk and let it cool.

Place the ice and the pistachio milk in a blender. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Serve in individual glasses and garnish with the chopped pistachios.

Chunky Chocolate Milkshake!

October 21, 2010 By Delia

The ultimate in Guilty Pleasures! A lot of people like a really thick, smooth milkshake. My personal preference is to have something so thick and chunky, you nearly need a spoon to drink it. The chunks in the drink will add more flavour to the drink, and give you a nice suprise at the bottom!

50g Chocolate cubes (dark, milk, white…your choice!)

Spray Cream

75ml Chocolate Sauce

125ml Milk

75ml Cream

1. Mix the milk and cream with some of the chocolate cubes

2. Add the Chocolate Sauce, and pulse (hint: for a more chunky shake, try using a cocktail shaker)

3. Decorate Glass with some chocolate sauce

4. Serve in the glass, top with spray cream and grate some of the remaining chocolate on top

Kiwi and Lime Milkshake

October 17, 2010 By Delia

Something different and out there, and a definite favourite of mine. The sharpness of the Lime and Kiwi complement each other beautifully, and the Icre Cream and Milk takes the edge off whilst still keeping all of the flavours fresh and refreshing.

Kiwi and Lime

Serves 2
150ml Milk
Juice and Rind of 2 limes
2 Kiwi Fruits, chopped up
1 tbsp sugar
400g Vanilla Ice Cream

1. Mix the milk and lime juice slowly in a food blender
2. Add the kiwi fruit and sugar, and gently process, before slowly adding the ice cream and blend until smooth
3. Pour into glasses, and decorate with the Lime Rind
4. Serve at once
