The five main food groups can be found on a slice of pizza, unless you’re a vegetarian or anti-vegetable, or course. Crust, sauce, and toppings can cover all of your daily diet needs, in one simple food. Probably the only other place you might get all five in one meal is through soup or chili, depending on your ingredients.
If you are aware that tomatoes are a fruit, then you can see how you have fruit covered, and the cheese part is pretty easy, for dairy. Your crust fits into the grains, and any vegetables and meat you put on covers the other two food categories.
Is A Meal All Its Own
The fact that it’s like your pizza will have at least three of five food groups, even if you’re just having a cheese pizza, makes it like a complete meal on its own if you cover all five of them. You don’t have to have sides with a pizza, but since the rule says to fill a third of your plate with veggies it makes sense to have pizza with a side salad!

You could eat pizza every day for a month and not have to eat the same combination of toppings more than once, and probably still have plenty of options left for more different ideas. It just depends on how open you are to different toppings. Even if you don’t like anchovies, you’ll still have a plethora of choices.
Have a little fun the next to your order, or make, a pizza and try some new toppings, or even some new sauces. Alfredo sauce on pizza can be very tasty, and so can BBQ sauce, if paired with the right toppings.
